IST Africa, Kampala, Uganda

I had a long day of traveling yesterday, first 8 hours in car from Iringa to Dar with the most exciting moment was when an elephant decided to show of in the middle of the road. In Dar I met with my friend Christian in downtown. Thereafter I took of to the airport and flied to Kampala via Nairobi. Eventually I arrived at the Speke/Munyonyo conference hotel some time after midnight. The hotel is very nice and located on the shores of lake Victoria. This morning I had a nice breakfast overlooking the lake. Conference was supposed to be opened by President Museveni but unfortunately he did not arrive and the Minister of ICT did the opening instead. Video is taken during opening ceremony with a choir singing the national anthem. The big hotel is full and overbooked so has been shuffled around a bit as I got a temporary room first night and then got a room where AC was not working and it is quite hot here. Food has been excellent so far except that it seems I ate something bad and tummy is not really my best friend at the moment. Lot's of people here I know so quite fun and tonight my Finnish supervisor Erkki will arrive.
