Sick and in bed :-(

On Sunday when showing a visitor around in Joensuu I started to feel as if the flu was attacking me. Been in bed since in hope of it to give up but seems it is a though one... Falling behind in my Joensuu work schedule now which gives me a bit of stress but anyway thats life. Met with Tuomas and Säde on Friday, they were exchange students in Tanzania last spring. Säde had made something similar to our semla but with jam instead of mandelmassa. They are indeed a bit strange this Finns :-) Think as in Sweden today would however have been the proper day to eat it.

Dinner at Ulla Kakkonen

Today I played some badminton thereafter I was invited to Cool-Ulla who had prepared some excellent food, especially the chanterelle sauce was amazing. She also performed some live music in Finnish, Swedish and English. There was even some dancing and at some point I was asked to show some African moves and after a lot of preassure a gave in for a 3 second dance :-) (Luckily not captured on video)

After 2 weeks of hard work I got released from the study cage and went cross country skiing on the lake at supervisors cottage. It was a cold day (-20) so was nice with a sauna and the contrast of cooling of by a snow roll. On Sunday evening I moved to a student apartment. Sharing kitchen with 3 others so not optimal but at least enjoying some private space.
