LWF Digital Storytelling training, Maputo

First day was mostly story sharing and selection of a story to focus on. Second day was plotting the story and drawing scenes and characters on paper. At the end of the section we started to work on digital drawings. So far it feels quite promissing to have some results by end of next week.

Eventful days in Cape Town

On Monday we drove to Langebaan for a visit at the famous Strandloper restaurant. A 10 course meal prepared on the beach over open fire was served where your knife and fork was a pair of mussel shells. Yesterday we visited the Two Oceans Aquarium at the waterfront before boarding the boat to the historical Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. As the weather was permitting we decided to also squeeze in a sunset visit to the top of table mountain, we were however not the only ones and got stuck on the mountain as we had to wait for hours to eventually catch the last cabin car down at 22:30.

New Year Celebrations Cape Town

Had a delicious dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant on New Years eve followed with joining the crowds to watch the pathetic fireworks at waterfront. The first day of the new year we spent at Kirstenbosch gardens listening to Mango Groove where everyone was dancing except the Swedes.

A day on the beach with Heidi's family

There was no end on the amount of food that was prepared otherwise sandboarding the dunes into the lagoon and volleyball was some of the activities exercised.

Addo Elephant Park

We had a quite successful safari with Bubbi and Linda where we had close encounters with massive elephants. Was a bit scary when the big male in the upper left corner walked just a meter from my little Saab. Despite missing out on the carnivores I believe it was a nice experience for especially Linda who was on her first safari ever.

Christmas Celebrations in PE

A Swedish/South African Christmas dinner at Heidi's sister Sharyl's place in Port Elizabeth. Curries blended with meatballs, herring (sill) and gammon (julskinka).

On top of Table Mountain

The first visit to the top of the mountain since it got elected one of the seven new wonders of the world.

Craig&Shirna visiting us in the Cape

Heidi's sister who just got married is now visiting us together with her husband Craig. So far we have had a "forbidden" braai on the balcony, visited the penguin spot in Simons Town, visited Cape Point and had a dinner at The Raj in Camps Bay.

Lira - Kirstenbosch gardens

  Together with few others me and Heidi went for a fantastic concert given by Lira this hot Sunday afternoon in Kirstenbosch gardens by the foot of table mountain.

On my drive back to Cape Town from PE stopped for lunch with a view.
